On Tuesday, 24th October, 2023,a team comprising the Hon Regional Minister -Dr Archibald Letsa,, Deputy Director General of NADMO- Mr. Seji Saji, Regional Director of Education- Mr. Francis Agbemadzi, North Tongu DCE- Hon. Divine Osborn Fenu, Regional Director of NADMO- Madam Ivy Amewugah and the Chiefs and people of Mepe received another high powered delegation led by the Hon. Minister of Education; Hon. Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum, his able Deputy Minister- Rev. John Ntim Fodjour, Chairman and Ranking Member of Parliamentary Select Committee on Education to Mepe to commiserate with the displaced victims especially the teachers and the school children.
The purpose of their visit was to sympathize and assess the degree of damage caused by the spillage especially to the educational facilities in the area and to attempt restoring semblance normalcy to the system.
Upon meeting with the teachers in the area,the Regional Minister debunked the rumour making waves among them that the main Akosombo Dam was going to break hence, they should vacate the area. He assured them that, our God and renowned engineers would never allow that to happen.
The Hon. DCE thanked the Education Minister and his team and commended the various forms of support, relief items and other interventions promised by his outfit to alleviate the plight of our hardworking teachers and the school children.
